Upcycled Door Pinterest Inspired

Hey guys!!! In today's blog I will share with you how I up-cycled my old back door. I made the door into a grilling station for my husband.
Picture
This is my old back door. It was sitting in our garage for about 2 years. I kept it because I saw a million things to do with it on pinterest. The first thing that you want to do is to clean your old door. You may need to sand it, if it is in bad condition.

Here is the paint that I used for the door. It was $7 at Home Depot.

My husband and I went to Goodwill looking for a table to use for the door but did not find one. My husband saw this headboard and thought that this would be good to use for the legs! Brilliant idea.! We cut the headboard at both sides and used them for legs.

Here are the legs after we cut them from the headboard. I tried to stain it but it did not work out so well. I spray painted the legs with a bright blue.
Picture
My husband drilled a hole in the center of the leg. This will allow us to attach the legs to the wood (that serves as a table top).

Here is so wood that my mom gave us from her garage. I absolutely love the character in the wood. We cut the wood to fit the door and used it as shelving.

Here is the door painted with the "Sun Yellow" paint. I taped off the door and painted the glass with chalk paint. I thought a chalkboard would be a great touch to this project.

This is the end result. I really love how it came out. We will be using this as a grilling station and extra storage for parties. If you have an old door laying around use your imagination and make it unique.

DIY Baby Shower Decorations" Once Upon A Time" Themed

Hey guys!! A few months ago I threw my good friend a "Once Upon a Time" themed baby shower. It was so much fun and it really challenged me to think outside of the box. I searched pinterest for inspiration but sadly not a lot of people have used this theme. I used only a few pinterest hacks.  Stick around and I will show you what I did.!

My favorite project was this Jack and the Bean Stalk centerpiece I made.

Picture
What did I use to make this?
1. Pool Noodles (3) got them from dollar tree.
2. Cardboard box. This will serve as your base.
3. Fake or real leaves (if you're feeling fancy). I used leaves from a fake plant that was gifted to me.
4. Rope ( I got about 3 yards from the dollar tree)
5. Skinny pole. (any pole) It will help support your pool noodles. Make sure you put it right through the cardboard box.

P.s. I made my friend a video slideshow that she loved and it was playing in the background the entire shower. The slideshow included pictures of her and her hubby from when they first started dating -through marriage- and up to the ultrasound.
Picture
I thought the book would add a nice touch. Of course I got it from the Goodwill.
Picture
I got the sonogram idea from pinterest. I used scrapbook paper to cut out the words "Royal Favors". The favors were bath salts from my mom's business "Finally Blooming" and they smell amazing. Everyone loved them. I got the castle from the Goodwill and also the pig and medieval shield in the background.
Picture
This was also pinterest inspired design.  I used a 2X1 and painted it black. I used a shelf bracket for the bottom to keep the pole stable. I cut arrows out of cardboard and painted them black. I lined the cardboard with ribbon to add a more polished look.
Picture
This was my favorite part of the shower. I had all the guest decorate onesie's as one of the shower games. I think everyone loved this as well. The mom-to-be chose her favorite one and the winner received a prize.
Let me know if you like these designs! See ya next time!

DIY Goodwill Find

Hey guys!!! I hope you all are doing well?! I am hoping that you all have been hitting up your local Goodwill/and other thrift stores in search of some great finds.

I want to tell you guys all about this rose bush that I found at the Goodwill (it came as a set of 2) when I was vacationing in Bonita Springs, Florida. I was with one of my good friend and both of us wanted to them.  I saw it first and my friend and I have a great understanding that whoever sees it first has first dibs. We Goodwill shop together a lot.

I spray painted the base black because the green was just not my style and looked dated (hated it!!!). I think the black spray paint brought this thing back to life(YAAASSS). Both of the bushes were $4.99 which was so great. Right now I have both bushes as a center piece on my kitchen table.

If you saw these at Goodwill would you grab them or pass?? Let me know your thoughts.

See ya later!!
