Hey guys!! Today I will be showing you how Zo and I gave our bathroom a much needed makeover! Here is a sneak peak of the before and after!
Picture
This bathroom before is so BORING! Next week I will be revealing the full bathroom.

Here's What You Need:

Picture
Supply List:
  1. Woodland Oak Peel and Stick - https://www.lowes.com/pd/Style-Selections-1-Piece-6-in-x-36-in-Antique-Woodland-Oak-Drk-Brown-Peel-and-Stick-Vinyl-Plank/999957675
    1. We used almost 2 boxes of the peel and stick
  2. Tape Measure
  3. Speed Square
  4. Utility Knife
Picture
We played a round with a few patterns. We thought the hexagon pattern with the wood planks would be awesome! It did not work out for us. The color on the hexagon pattern did not go with the planks. We cut out about 5 hexagons.. so it wasn't a huge waste of time.
Picture
We played around with mixing two colors. We also purchased a white wash gray. We did not like this combination together.
Here is what you need to do:

Step 1: Measure your floor! Remove your toilet( You will thank me later) and remove your sink if need be!
Step 2: Determine the pattern that you want to lay your tile.
Step 3: Measure each plank before you apply it to the floor. We staggered each plank to give it a more organic look.
Step 4: After you measure you plank, tear off the paper and apply your planks carefully. I put a little pressure on each plank after I applied them.
Step 5: Repeat the process. When you cut your planks make sure you are doing it evenly. Use the speed square for this process.

This is the after!!! I am very happy with this! This was done all under $120. It was so easy and took about 2 hours. We took our time when it came to cutting the planks.

DIY Outdoor Sectional made with 2X4s

Hi guys! My husband and I built the sectional above using just 2x4s, stain, foam cushions, and fabric. We posted a video on youtube. Be sure to check it out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfYzlmuRSh4. We were inspired to do this project after we saw Ana White,
Here are the items that you will need for this project:
  • 31 (2x4's) Cedar is the best but is pricey
  • 18 volt drill
  • Circular Saw or Miter saw
  • Speed Square
  • Nails (we used 3 inch)
  • 3 foam cushions (24x72)
  • 7-8 yards of outdoor fabric
  • Needle and thread/sewing machine (if you dont have a sewing machine dont fret!) I hand stitched my cushions. It took quite a while but I got it done!
Here is the link to Ana's Cut list :

This is my hubby proudly pushing all the lumber he had to cut. The lumber was about $3.47 for a 6ft piece. We used pre treated weather shield 2x4s and after we did our research we wish we would have used cedar! The total cost of the wood was about $118 with tax.
Picture
So.. We didnt have a saw horse so we improvised and used chairs. It worked perfectly. Ha! We are planning to get saw horses now since we will be doing more building.
Picture
Ahhh the base. It was a good feeling when we saw this part coming toghether.
Picture
Now we have come to the part where we put on the legs and back support. Assembling the legs were pretty easy as well as adding the back support. I must say that if you have a driver for pocket screws use it for the back support. We did not and as a result we had to use about 5 inch screws to attach the back support.
Picture
Almost done! After the legs and back supports were added we worked on the sitting area. We spaced the 2x4s about 2inches apart and drilled them into the base. We used about 4 screws for each piece of lumber. We wanted to insure that it was going to be stable.
Picture
At last we were done building, drilling, and cutting. We stained the bench using a light gray that almost looks blue in person. We used a stain from home depot that was about $10 with tax. We let the stain dry overnight and it turned out beautifully.
Picture
This is the stain that we used. I can say that I really like the way it turned out.
Picture
Now on to the cushions. First, I need to say that I am in love with this fabric. I got it from Jo-Ann's on sale for $6.99!! Score! I also had a 20% discount. The total came out to about $60. I brought 9 yards but only needed about 6-7. The foam was $25 and I purchased 4 from home depot. I hand stitched 3 of the 4 cushions and my mom or shall I say design assistant did the last one for me. If you have a sewing machine... honey! Use it!!!! I hand stitched them and my fingers hurt for 2 days after.
Picture
My mom was helping me cut the fabric to fit the foam. I brought too much fabric but that's ok I will make some pillows. I love the boldness of this color. Also, it is important to note that I cut the foam in half for the back support cushion. Cutting foam is pretty difficult. If you have an electric knife I strongly suggest you use that. I used a razor but I was not happy with the rough edges.
I hope you enjoyed this post. This was a very fun project. It took about 8 hours to build but it was worth every minute. The memories we have from this will last a lifetime. I hope that you will try to build this also and be sure to tag me on social media so I can see your work!

See ya later!

Free Office Desk Makeover

5/25/2016

Hi guys, would you believe me if I told you that I found this table on the side of the road? Welp, I did!! I was driving home and saw this table laying by someones's trash can. I was in search of a new crafting desk. I out grew the one I had before. The total cost of this was free! I already had all the supplies I need. Never pass up any good looking furniture on the street, you never know what you can Dream. Inspire or CREATE!!
PictureThis is the final product. I absoutley love it and it was FREE! I used white Glidden paint that I had leftover from a previous project. I used Rust-Oluem metallic gold spray paint on the legs.

Picture
I had to take a picture of my mom and husband helping me put the table in my truck. I had to have them come and meet me ( I didn't bring my tools with me, sigh). I needed help taking the legs off so they came to my rescue.
Picture
This is the beauty. I had to scrub this thing down! There was so much grease on it. I prime the table really well before I started to paint.
Picture
The legs were very easy to do and took about 15 mins. I did not have to prime the legs. I did have to give them a good scrub.
Picture
After the legs were spray painted I let them dry for about 24 hours. Also, the Rustoleum spray paint at home depot is about $3.47 a can. I think that's a great price.
