Hey guys!! In today's blog I will share with you how I flipped this cabinet and made custom door handles. This was a very easy project and great for beginners.

Here is the paint that I used. Please excuse the Zebra in the back. It is my sister's. I brought this from home depot for $6.

Quick tip: I use old shower curtains as drop cloths when I paint. They are sturdy and you can reuse them several times. Very Eco-Friendly.

Now on to painting. When painting just remember to keep your strokes even.

Time to spray paint. I used Rustoleum "Dark Gray" spray paint. It is $3.47 a can in Chicago.

Make sure you cover the entire handle and spray even.

Here are the lizards that I brought from dollar tree. I wanted something soft but also long. You can try this with any of your child's toys.
Making the handles:
You will need the following:
  • Gorilla glue or E6000. I used hot glue gun which was not a good idea. (It did not hold well).
  • Scissors. You will need to cute the lizard down the middle so that it fits onto the handles.
Steps on how to attach the lizards to the handles:
1. Cut the lizard down the middle.
2. Place glue on the door handle and the lizard (or toy).
3. Press firmly down for about a minute or so to attach the handle and toy.
4. Let dry for about 5-10 minutes.
5. After the handle is dry screw the handle back to the cabinet.
6. Wasn't that easy? Also, if you feel that this may not work for your child you can purchase these handles from Hobby Lobby.

Here is the final product! I absolutely love it. I made this for my nephews room and he loves it. This entire project cost me less than $10. I purchased the paint and the lizards.
