Hi Guys!!
In today blog I will show you how I flipped this kids rocking chair. I brought this year and cant remember if I brought this from Goodwill or a yard sale. Anytime that I see kids pieces I pick them up immediately (this always makes a great gift). I am flipping this as a gift for my friend who just had a baby.

Here are the tools you will need:

Steps on how to Up cycle this Chair:
1. First you want to clean the chair. (This one was very dusty because I had it for about a year in my garage.)
2. I sanded the chair so that I could smooth out all the rough surfaces. The chair was very beat up on the back legs so I had to sand it as well as cut off the damaged wood.  I used a power sander for this step. You can use a sheet of sand paper if you like (just requires a bit of elbow grease).
3. After you sand be sure to wipe off all the sawdust. If you miss this step it can ruin your entire project. Trust me I know!! I have skipped out on wiping down furniture well and I paid for it later.
4. Tape off the parts of the chair that you do not want spray painted.
5. Start spray painting. Do light coats. I did about 3 coats and I spread them out to an hour each coat.
6. I am a huge fan of personalizing gifts so I added the babies initials with letters from Michael's. You can also paint letters on if your feeling fancy. You will need E6000 to glue on the letters.

7. Let the project dry for 24 hours before you add any polyurethane on it.

Wicker refers to any furniture or baskets that have been woven. Many web sites will tell you that people often mistake wicker for a material but in fact.
